MAKING GOOD INVESTMENT DECISIONS
Individual investors each have their own diverse investment strategy, yet all investors share the primary goal of achieving superior investment performance.

Making investment decisions can be very stressful, especially when there is much uncertainty of how investments will perform in the future. Investors should align their investment approach with their goals, financial resources, and personal risk tolerance. There is never just one correct course of action or solution in investment strategy.

There are three major approaches used by
investment professionals to establish what
investments to choose and when to
purchase them.

Fundamental Approach
Fundamental analysis looks at the value of a company based upon the financial statements and their particular business model.

The current profit margin, cash flows, and balance sheet information is some of the types of  information used to place a value on a business.

Technical Analysis
Technical analysis follows charts and market indicators to establish when trends, bottoms,
tops, and other named cycles which can be forecast based on previous trends and cycles.

Quantitative AnalysisQuantitative analysis uses the statistics of how investments have performed in the past to
maximize the return for a specific level of risk. This is mainly achieved through balancing
investments with other investments which historically have performed differently (also
known as uncorrelated).

The Role of a Good Investment Advisor
A good advisor must listen to you and find out what you want before they can help you make
investment decisions. Your particular situation, personality, and goals alter what investments
are appropriate for you. No matter which type of investment analysis you subscribe to or if you
believe they all have merit, a good advisor will help reassure you when the markets are in
recession and keep you grounded when the markets are roaring. Having a trusted advisor
helps you make cool, level-headed decisions which usually end up turning out better.
